Apple has rolled out its 27.2 software updates, headlined by a smarter Siri AI that can now recall past conversations and speak five more languages.
On supported iPhones, iOS 27.2 lets Siri AI remember what it told you before — for example, a restaurant it recommended last week — so you can pick up earlier threads without starting over. The assistant can also draw on more personal context, including photos shared in Messages, attendees on calendar invitations, voicemails, and Safari history and reading lists.
A new Excluded Apps setting lets users choose, in one place, which apps Siri, Search and suggestions may access, giving people more control over that personal context. Users can also select and copy parts of Siri’s responses.
Language support expands to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The features require an iPhone 16 model or later, or an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, and Siri AI remains unavailable in the EU and mainland China.
The same Siri AI updates reach watchOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2, alongside releases for iPad, Apple TV, Vision Pro and HomePod. The wider update also adds message suggestions, editing for shared album captions and comments, and support for Google’s SynthID watermarking for AI-generated images.
The memory upgrade brings Siri closer to rival assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Our ChatGPT vs Gemini comparison shows how the two leading assistants stack up.
